The Concordia Mustangs had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 59-22 win over Ralston at home. Concordia's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Concordia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eliza Schmidt out in front who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals. Elly Domsch was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Ralston had strong showings from Chloe Owen, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Genesis Barrios, who scored no points.
Concordia's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14. As for Ralston, their loss was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concordia will take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Archbishop Bergan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday. As for Ralston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
