The Gilpin County Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Dawson School Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Gilpin County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.7 goals per game this season.

Gilpin County is headed into the matchup without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. Neither they nor SkyView Academy could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw. Gilpin County had to tread lightly for part of the contest as Molly Brennan and Faith Ramsey were both handed yellow cards, which could explain the final result.

Meanwhile, Dawson School came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Eagles. Considering Dawson School have won four matches by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kanoe Bihag and Hannah Johnson scored all five of Dawson School's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 26 goals.

Dawson School's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four contests. With that draw, Gilpin County's record moves to 9-0-2.

Gilpin County might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Dawson School when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
