Cypress Creek and Port Charlotte squared off in some playoff action  on Wednesday, but Cypress Creek had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of  3-2. The Coyotes' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
 Cypress Creek started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-23,  15-8.
 Despite the  loss, Cypress Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Elena Cupitra  had 11  digs and one  assist.
 Among those leading the charge was   Sammi Jo Colburn, who  had 14  digs and four  assists.  Jazmine Vellos also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  dig of the season.
Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Port Charlotte, their victory  ended  a  three-match drought on the road  and  puts them at 12-16.
 Cypress Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Port Charlotte, they have already played their next match,  a  3-2  win against St. Petersburg on the 25th.
