Kern Valley took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boron. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kern Valley in their matchups with Boron: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Kern Valley had strong showings from Hunter Watts, who gained 62 total yards and two touchdowns, and Zane Carver, who threw for 31 yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Andrew Gartica, who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Kern Valley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Boron, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Kern Valley will head out on the road to face off against Strathmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boron will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fowler at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th.
