Toll Gate and Pilgrim are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Toll Gate Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pilgrim Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Rhode Island (Toll Gate is ranked 14th, while Pilgrim is ranked 33rd).
Toll Gate had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Friday against Lincoln by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46.
Meanwhile, Pilgrim's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 39-25 bruising from North Smithfield. That's two games in a row now that Pilgrim has lost by exactly 14 points.
Toll Gate's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Pilgrim, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Toll Gate took their win against Pilgrim when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 59-39. Will Toll Gate repeat their success, or does Pilgrim have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
