Baseball Recap: Clearwater Valley Has No Trouble Against Prairie

Clearwater Valley won the last time they faced Prairie and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rams were the clear victors by a 21-10 margin over the Pirates. Considering the Rams have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Barak Meyer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Clearwater Valley is 8-1 when Meyer posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Lincoln Barger was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Clearwater Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.7 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.8.

Clearwater Valley pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.7 runs over those games. As for Prairie, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.
