On Saturday, Freeman didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lower Brule, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Freeman.
Freeman found their leader in underclassman Tate Sorensen, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sorensen has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tayden Kerrigan, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Lower Brule lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lane Gray. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Gray is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Palmier, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Freeman's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Lower Brule, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.
Freeman will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ethan at 7:30 p.m. As for Lower Brule, they will head out on the road to challenge Little Wound at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
