The Stanton Mustangs were the 50-43 winner over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Stanton fell just short of Logan View/Scribner-Snyder by a score of 35-32. It was the first time this season that Stanton let down their fans at home.
Hayden Dixon and Kelby Pohlman certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Dixon scored 17 points, while Pohlman scored four points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Dixon scored 15 or more points.
Stanton struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Stanton's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stanton will take on Elkhorn Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Elkhorn Valley is ranked 74th, while Stanton is ranked 66th). As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they will be playing at home against Bishop Neumann at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Neumann is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
