Lily Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Jenni Mezo was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Claire Mollett, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Anthony, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Richland County 12-11. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Julia Schultz, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Ady Rios was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
St. Anthony was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Richland County only posted a batting average of .258.
With the win, St. Anthony broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Mulberry Grove, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
