Nate Smith and Jesus Huerta provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Willows. The longest such play in Sacramento Valley this season, the connection resulted in 82 yards.
Live Oak moved up to 685 from 724 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions were able to make move up by beating Durham 28-0.
Andy Corona was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 139 yards on 32 carries as Pierce defeated the Honkers. Teammate Adolfo Ramirez added to the ground attack by rushing for 14 yards.
Huerta was the best wideout in Sacramento Valley this week as the Bears bested Willows. Huerta tallied one reception for 82 yards. Oscar Sanchez helped Pierce's passing attack out by catching one ball for 39 yards.
Brandon Acord put up the best numbers through the air as Mt. Shasta fell to Trinity. He finished with a total of seven completions for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Acord's favorite target this week was Dylan Padula, who caught four passes for 78 yards.
Romario Acosta provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Live Oak topped the Trojans. He completed 11 passes for 142 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 85 yards. Acosta's favorite target this week was Aaron Pamma, who caught five passes for 53 yards.
On the ground, the Wolves' Cory Cook has rushed for 1141 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zach Marks. The Durham star has 22 catches for 542 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pierce takes on Durham. At the moment, Scott Burnum's team is in first, while Kevin York's team is in fifth.
The Bears extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Jim Ward's team, 14-7. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
