Basketball Game Preview: East Forsyth Eagles vs. R.J. Reynolds Demons

The East Forsyth Eagles will square off against the R.J. Reynolds Demons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

R.J. Reynolds is hoping to do what Parkland couldn't on Friday: put an end to East Forsyth's winning streak, which now stands at three games. East Forsyth was the clear victor by a 70-48 margin over Parkland. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

East Forsyth's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Autumn Ware led the charge by going 5 of 6 on her way to 10 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals Ware has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Rajanae Bethea, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for R.J. Reynolds, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 52-12 blowout they got against Glenn. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for the Demons this season.

East Forsyth has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for R.J. Reynolds, they moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Things could have been worse for East Forsyth, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-35 loss to R.J. Reynolds in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can East Forsyth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
