Southmoreland is 0-3 against Frazier since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Southmoreland Scotties will square off against the Frazier Commodores at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Southmoreland is headed out to face Frazier after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Southmoreland put the hurt on Monessen with a sharp 13-2 win on Tuesday. The Scotties haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Joey Bentz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Southmoreland let Jake Govern and Bredon Geho run wild. Govern scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Geho scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave Govern a new career-high. Blake Forsythe was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
Southmoreland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monessen only posted a batting average of .143.
Meanwhile, Frazier had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Washington on Monday as Frazier made off with a 20-7 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Commodores as it put an end to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Aidan Hardy was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Hardy was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Chase Fulmer was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Tyler Morrison, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Southmoreland came up short against Frazier when the teams last played back in March of 2021, falling 5-2. Can Southmoreland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
