Even though The Hermleigh Cardinals scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, the Highland Hornets still came out on top. Highland strolled past Hermleigh with points to spare, taking the game 76-60. Highland didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Caden Wilburn threw for 26 yards on only two passes. Ben Spaulding was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards.
Highland's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Hermleigh, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.
Highland will take on Roby at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roby will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Highland is ranked 29th). As for Hermleigh, they will head out on the road to face off against Ira at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
