San Juan has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. The San Juan Broncos and the Monticello Buckaroo will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. San Juan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Monticello likes a good challenge.
San Juan pushed their score all the way to 64 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of American Heritage. San Juan has struggled against American Heritage recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The match was Done's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jagger Nieves, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Monticello fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Dove Creek on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to the Bulldogs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Monticello came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 130th in Utah, while Dove Creek is ranked 277th in Colorado).
San Juan's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Monticello, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
San Juan strolled past Monticello in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 62-48. Does San Juan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monticello turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
