The Crisp Academy Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Furlow Charter School with a sharp 65-41 win. The win was a breath of fresh air for Crisp Academy as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Crisp Academy found their leader in underclassman Reese Reed, who scored 25 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Ellenberg, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Furlow Charter School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kamari Deriso. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Deriso has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Deriso, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Crisp Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Furlow Charter School, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road.
Crisp Academy the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Grace Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Furlow Charter School will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against CHESS Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th.
