Kenleigh Brill was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ajah Goodman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Exeter Township came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Black Knights.
Mackenzie O'Brien was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). O'Brien was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
O'Brien wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Meghan Moyer, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Exeter Township hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 6-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Exeter Township's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Muhlenberg, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Muhlenberg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348.
