The Fossil Ridge SaberCats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They secured a 52-46 W over Castle View. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fossil Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fossil Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Smith, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmen Arkin, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Fossil Ridge now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Castle View, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fossil Ridge will take on Broomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Castle View, they will head out on the road to square off against Chaparral at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Castle View in Colorado (Chaparral is ranked 19th, while Castle View is ranked 94th).
