Woodland has gone a perfect 4-0 against Kalama recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Beavers will head out on the road to challenge the Chinooks at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Woodland's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Washougal with a sharp 23-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Beavers, who have now won three matches in a row.

Gracelynn Huffman and Addi Christensen made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Huffman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Christensen pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Huffman went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Christensen got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Madison Walker was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Jolie Oathes also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Woodland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 10-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Kalama had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Rockets as they made off with a 20-2 win. That looming 20-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Chinooks yet this season.
Like Woodland, Kalama also got a great game from a two-way player: Katelynne Jones. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Kalama got a massive performance out of Ada Schlangen, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Colbie Manninen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Kalama pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Woodland, their record is now 13-7.
Kalama's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Woodland has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Kalama, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Woodland's sizable advantage in that area, the Chinooks will need to find a way to close that gap.
Woodland took their victory against Kalama when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
