The Chaminade Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Royal Highlanders at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Royal will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Chaminade extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. The Eagles never let Calabasas get on the board and left with a 25-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Chaminade got a massive performance out of Chloe Cardona, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Cardona a new career-high. London Mills also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Chaminade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .614. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calabasas only posted an OBP of .389.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Royal). They blew past Grace 11-2 on Tuesday. The Highlanders not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21, 2025 (when they won 11-1).
Alexis Aleman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Lidija Faubert was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Hayden Miller, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Royal's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Chaminade, their record is now 5-0.
Chaminade might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Royal when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
