The St. John XXIII Lions were the 52-42 winner over the Lutheran South Academy Pioneers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. St. John XXIII fell 66-53 to Lutheran South Academy on Tuesday.
It was another big night for Makynna Robbins, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 18 rebounds for Lutheran South Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robbins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bianca Barba, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
St. John XXIII now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Lutheran South Academy, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-12.
St. John XXIII will challenge Second Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Second Baptist knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully St. John XXIII likes a good challenge. As for Lutheran South Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Woodlands Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran South Academy and The Woodlands Christian Academy are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
