The Park Vista Cobras will venture away from home to face off against the Palm Beach Central Broncos at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Park Vista will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Park Vista is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-7 margin over Boca Raton on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cobras, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Cody Wexler looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Will Bavaro and Anthony Espinoza did most of the damage at the plate: Bavaro went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Espinoza scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave Bavaro a new career-high. Cooper Ellis was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.
Park Vista kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Palm Beach Central sidestepped Boca Raton for a 4-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.
Charlie Houd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Palm Beach Central let Zach Pollock and Andres Lopes run wild. Pollock scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Lopes scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Park Vista pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Palm Beach Central, their record is now 15-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Park Vista has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Palm Beach Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Park Vista was able to grind out a solid win over Palm Beach Central in their previous meeting back in February, winning 10-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cobras since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
