It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Bedford North Lawrence Stars had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They secured a 43-39 W over the Panthers. The win was familiar territory for Bedford North Lawrence who now have six in a row.
It was another big night for Madisyn Bailey, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chloe Spreen, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mollie Ernstes, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivia Elmore, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Jennings County were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bedford North Lawrence only posted four assists.
Bedford North Lawrence's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Jennings County, their loss dropped their record down to 23-4.
Bedford North Lawrence and the Trojans will face off at 1:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Center Grove is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 18 games. Jennings County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
