The Murphy Panthers lost against the Blount Leopards back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Murphy's rough 26-6 loss to Blount might stick with them for a while. Murphy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
James Holbrook threw for 170 yards and a touchdown on only 16 passes. Jaylon Edney was his top target, picking up 69 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Brandon Bendolph rushed for 90 yards.
Murphy's loss was their sixth straight at home , which bumped their record down to 2-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.2 points per game. As for Blount, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.
Murphy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Blount also has no future games currently scheduled.
