There's no place like home for the Union Local Jets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They secured a 61-57 W over Barnesville on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Union Local's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dre Saunders led the charge by scoring 17 points along with two steals. Saunders is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gannon Kerns, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Union Local pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Barnesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Union Local will head out on the road to face off against the Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Clairsville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully the Jets likes a good challenge. As for Barnesville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Buckeye Local has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 3.
