The Mississinewa Indians will face off against the Norwell Knights at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mississinewa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against New Haven as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Indians not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 24th (when they won 3-0).
Mississinewa can attribute much of their success to Jaeli Miller, who had seven digs and two aces, and Makenna Campbell, who had eight digs. What's more, Miller posted four assists, the most she's had since back in August of 2024.
Meanwhile, Norwell hadn't done well against Huntington North recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. The Knights came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 3-1.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 17-25, 25-17, 25-12.
Norwell's win came from a few key players Mississinewa will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bria Reinhard, who had three digs and three aces.
Norwell was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matchups.
Norwell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. As for Mississinewa, their record is now 24-6.
Mississinewa suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Norwell in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
