The Cloverdale Eagles will head out to challenge the Analy Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cloverdale has seven straight wins, Analy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Cloverdale barely beat St. Vincent de Paul the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Cloverdale blew past St. Vincent de Paul 11-1 on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Camryn Bird, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Camryn Donahoo, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Cloverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Analy didn't have quite enough to beat San Rafael two weeks ago and fell 6-4.
Sophia Pellini put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Bella Jurek was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Maya Antonelli was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Analy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cloverdale, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Analy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Cloverdale has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game.
