Basketball Game Preview: Mifflin Punchers vs. Linden-McKinley Panthers

Mifflin and Linden-McKinley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Mifflin Punchers will be playing at home against the Linden-McKinley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mifflin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.

Mifflin took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 75-38 victory over Columbus International. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-19.

Mifflin found their leader in sophomore Myles Jarrett, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 31 points along with seven assists and six boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jarrett has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adimalik Omar, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Mifflin was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Linden-McKinley sidestepped Whetstone for a 49-46 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Linden-McKinley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Mifflin, they moved to 7-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Mifflin skirted past Linden-McKinley 50-47 in their previous meeting on January 8th. Does Mifflin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Linden-McKinley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
