West Wendover is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 9.78 strikeouts in those games compared to only 2.75 in the others. North Tahoe's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Tahoe has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .470. However, it's not like West Wendover struggles in that department as they've averaged .443. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
