Basketball Game Preview: Telos vs. Altamont Longhorns

Telos will take on the Altamont Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Altamont took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Telos, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row, Telos turned things around against Dugway on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 60-51. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Telos' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Telos had a senior duo take command as Jacobb Prussman went 9 for 13 en route to 21 points and eight rebounds and Landon Edwards posted 12 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Prussman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemari McCauley, who scored 11 points.

Telos was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Altamont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost to Manila at home by a 63-45 margin. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by exactly 18 points.

Telos will have to contain Breyden Jessen as he made an impact in Altamont's last game. He dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Jessen a new career-high in steals (four). Case Sorensen was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Altamont's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Telos, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Things could have been worse for Telos, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-50 loss to Altamont in their previous matchup back in November of 2023.
