Western Beaver is 2-8 against Rochester since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Western Beaver Golden Beavers will head out on the road to square off against the Rochester Rams at 7:30 p.m. Western Beaver is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Western Beaver strolled past Cornell with points to spare, taking the game 50-35.
Western Beaver's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jon Backur led the charge by scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Backur has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nathan Schwarz, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Rochester waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They snuck past Union Area with a 53-47 win.
Western Beaver's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Rochester, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Western Beaver might still be hurting after the 55-32 loss they got from Rochester in their previous matchup back in January. Can Western Beaver avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
