Mexia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Gatesville by a score of 2-1.

Mexia has fallen quite a ways from their 18-7-2 record last season and are now at 1-3-3. As for Gatesville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mexia will take on Hearne at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hearne is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Gatesville, they will be playing at home against Copperas Cove at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
