The BASIS Phoenix Firebirds lost against the Northland Prep Academy Spartans back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. BASIS Phoenix was beaten by Northland Prep Academy 72-27. BASIS Phoenix has not had much luck with Northland Prep Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
BASIS Phoenix's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Uzayr Ansari, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, and Atharsh Ramkumar who scored 11 points.
Northland Prep Academy found their leader in underclassman Ian Karren, who scored 13 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Karren grabbed two or more steals. Jaden Joiner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
BASIS Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Northland Prep Academy, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
BASIS Phoenix will play host again and welcome Ray, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully BASIS Phoenix focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. As for Northland Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Glendale Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
