New Deal is 10-0 against Ralls since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The New Deal Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Ralls Jackrabbits at 7:45 p.m. New Deal knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Ralls likes a good challenge.
New Deal pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Floydada on the road by a decisive 76-62 margin. New Deal has not had much luck with Floydada recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Ralls suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 80-40 loss at the hands of Hale Center. While losing is never fun, Ralls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1332nd, while Hale Center is ranked 527th).
New Deal has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Ralls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.
Everything came up roses for New Deal against Ralls in their previous matchup on January 2nd as the team secured a 95-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Deal since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
