Southbridge had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding  32-0 victory over the Murdock Blue Devils on the road. The  matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Pioneers had established  a  24 point advantage.
 Southbridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Miguel Velasquez led the charge by rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown. Velasquez didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble and made six total tackles. Another receiver making a difference was  Alexander Bermudez Miranda, who rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown.
 Southbridge wouldn't let Murdock keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Southbridge can thank  Adrian Melendez and  Velasquez for forcing both of them.
