Owyhee is 9-1 against McDermitt since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Owyhee Braves will stay at home for another game and welcome the McDermitt Bulldogs at 5:40 p.m. on February 13th. One thing working in Owyhee's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Owyhee can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They put the hurt on Jackpot with a sharp 79-54 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 63-26.
Owyhee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bisaapi Melendez led the charge by scoring 22 points. Melendez is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for five games straight. Dishaun George-Smith was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, McDermitt's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Lund, falling 59-21. McDermitt has not had much luck with Lund recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
McDermitt's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Shandon Camas, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals, and AJ Farmer who scored seven points. Camas is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played.
Owyhee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for McDermitt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Owyhee hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.5 points per game. It's a different story for McDermitt, though, as they've been averaging only 34 points per game. The only thing between Owyhee and another offensive beatdown is McDermitt. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Owyhee strolled past McDermitt in their previous meeting on Thursday by a score of 60-44. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Camas, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Owyhee still be able to contain Camas? There's only one way to find out.
