Basketball Recap: Muddy River Homeschool Extends Winning Streak to 15

Muddy River HomeSchool put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 81-53 win over the Hattiesburg HomeSchool Forerunners . The Counselors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Muddy River HomeSchool's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sun Michael Williams, who dropped a triple-double on 19 points, ten boards, and ten assists. With that strong performance, Williams is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Luke Sanders was another key player, going 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds.

Muddy River HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Muddy River HomeSchool's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.2 points. As for Hattiesburg HomeSchool, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Muddy River HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 84-80 victory against Central Hinds Academy on the 19th. As for Hattiesburg HomeSchool, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Oak Park Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
