The Belle Chasse Cardinals waltzed into their game Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakeshore and snuck past 65-63. That's two games straight that Belle Chasse has won by exactly two points.
Kyle Reeves was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Bryce Louviere was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Belle Chasse pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Lakeshore, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.
Belle Chasse will take on Pearl River at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pearl River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Belle Chasse is ranked 124th). As for Lakeshore, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Amant at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Amant knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Lakeshore likes a good challenge.
