The Floresville Tigers won the last time they faced the Pleasanton Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Given Floresville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Eagles are ranked 1040th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Floresville found their leader in underclassman Samuel Rodriguez, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and five steals. It was the first time this season that Rodriguez posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Connor Parkinson, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Floresville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Pleasanton, they dropped their record down to 10-20 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Floresville will take on the Warhorses at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pleasanton, they will head out on the road to take on the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Uvalde is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
