After flying high against the Hagerstown Tigers last Wednesday, the Winchester Community Golden Falcons came back down to earth. Winchester Community took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Delta on Wednesday. Winchester Community was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Delta apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Leading Delta to victory were Jillian Barr and Elizabeth Bamidele. Barr scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals, while Bamidele scored 20 points along with 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Bamidele has scored at least 25% of Delta's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffyn Knight, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals.
Winchester Community has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Delta, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Winchester Community will head out on the road to face off against Monroe Central at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monroe Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Winchester Community in Indiana (Monroe Central is ranked 137th, while Winchester Community is ranked 283rd). As for Delta, they will be playing at home against New Palestine at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Palestine has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
