The Perry Bluejays lost against the Webster City Lynx back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Perry took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Webster City. Perry has struggled against Webster City recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Bluejays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karagyn Whelchel, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Nehring, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Perry's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Webster City, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-19.
Perry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-24 defeat vs. Nevada on the 9th. Webster City will head out on the road to take on Gilbert on Wednesday. Gilbert knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Webster City likes a good challenge.
