The Puyallup Vikings will face off against the Olympia Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Wednesday, Puyallup needed a bit of extra time to put away Yelm. They walked away with a 19-16 victory over the Tornados. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Puyallup got a massive performance out of Mack Hardesty, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Kayla Ringenbach, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Hardesty wasn't the only one making solid contact: Puyallup kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The Vikings are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Olympia made easy work of Curtis on Monday and carried off a 20-7 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Avery Mauldin was incredible, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Bautista, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Olympia's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Puyallup, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Puyallup's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Vikings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Olympia, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Puyallup continue to outrun the ball?
Puyallup came out on top in a nail-biter against Olympia in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
