The Compton Tarbabes will venture away from home to square off against the Cabrillo Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Compton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
On Tuesday, Compton came up short against Woodrow Wilson and fell 75-64. The defeat continues a trend for the Tarbabes in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost seven in a row.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Suavius Denem, who went 9-for-22 to rack up 23 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Sims, who posted 14 points.
Meanwhile, Cabrillo hadn't done well against Lakewood recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Jaguars took down the Lancers 74-55. That 19 point margin sets a new team best for the Jaguars this season.
Compton better focus on containing Kinsey Obue and Ului-He-Lotu Eteaki as the pair were huge in Cabrillo's win. Obue dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards, while Eteaki shot 50% from the field en route to 23 points. With that strong performance, Eteaki is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Marques MJ Reed Jr was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.
Having lost for the first time this season, Compton fell to 5-1. As for Cabrillo, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Compton has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Cabrillo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Compton was taken down by Cabrillo 87-54 in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Tarbabes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
