If Somersworth was feeling good  fresh off their  3-0 takedown of Manchester Central on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Toppers fell just short of the Coe-Brown Academy Bears by a score of  3-2 on Friday. The Toppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in September of 2024.
 In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Somersworth sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 27-25, 13-25, 25-21, 23-25,  15-7.
 Savanna Comeau paced Somersworth's offense, picking up 14 kills. Comeau got some help from  Kylie Pettengill and her 30 assists. Finally,  Paige Demers kept Somersworth's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.
Having lost for the first time  this season, Somersworth  fell to 3-1. As for Coe-Brown Academy, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Somersworth will  face off against  rival Winnisquam  at 5:45  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Coe-Brown Academy is set to  take on  their familiar foe St. Thomas Aquinas  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
