The Wayne Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Beaver Dam 74-33 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-15.
Wayne was led to victory by Blake Peterson and Ryker Peterson . Peterson dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Peterson scored 23 points along with six assists and four steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Batty, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Wayne is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Beaver Dam, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne and Piute will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Piute will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Beaver Dam and Panguitch will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Panguitch presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Beaver Dam in their respective states (Panguitch is ranked 30th in Utah, while Beaver Dam is ranked 104th in Arizona).
