Oxbow had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the Spaulding Crimson Tide get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Olympians sure are getting used to it with their 20th in a row dating back to last season.
Anastase Bourgeois made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Bourgeois was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Oxbow got a massive performance out of Noemi Rosa, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Braylee Phelps, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.
Oxbow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in ten consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Looking ahead, Oxbow will head out to face off against Lyndon Institute at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Spaulding, they will challenge Bellows Free Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
