Victoria West is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Victoria East is on a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Victoria West's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Lamar Consolidated with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Aiden Deleon and Jay Guerrero made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Deleon didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Guerrero tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts Deleon has posted since back in March. At the plate, Deleon got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Guerrero went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Payton Brannan was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Waters, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Victoria West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .528 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Victoria East came out on top against Fort Bend Kempner on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Titans blew past the Cougars 10-0.
Victoria East got a massive performance out of Grayson Youngblood, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryan Steele, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Victoria East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Victoria West, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6-2.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Victoria West hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Victoria East struggles in that department as they've averaged .356. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Victoria West came out on top in a nail-biter against Victoria East in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
