After a string of three wins, the Panther Creek Catamounts's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Green Level. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Panther Creek has scored all season.
Panther Creek lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Greg Ehlinger, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ja'tez Ward, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Isaac Ericksen was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds for Green Level. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ericksen has scored at least 25% of Green Level's points. Tye Cain was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists.
Panther Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Green Level, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Panther Creek won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. David's at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. St. David's will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Panther Creek is ranked 109th). As for Green Level, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverside-Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Riverside-Durham focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
