It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Beach Bulldogs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Savannah Christian with a 57-53 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Beach also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Jayden Newton went supernova for Beach, scoring 27 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was James Tisby, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Beach's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Savannah Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beach won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Calvary Day at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Calvary Day is ranked 293rd, while Beach is ranked 309th). As for Savannah Christian, Savannah Christian and Long County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
