The Goldsboro Cougars will take on the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Goldsboro will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Monday, everything went Goldsboro's way against John Paul II Catholic as Goldsboro made off with a 69-43 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Goldsboro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Des'Myah Croom out in front who shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. What's more, Croom also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Imari Buckom, who went 6 of 7 en route to 16 points.
Goldsboro was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as John Paul II Catholic only racked up six assists.
Meanwhile, Wallace-Rose Hill beat Pender 32-25 on Friday.
Goldsboro better keep an eye on Savannah Smith. She was instrumental in Wallace-Rose Hill's win, going 9 of 18 on her way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Sloan, who posted no points along with four steals and three blocks.
Goldsboro's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.9 points per game. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Goldsboro has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 38.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Wallace-Rose Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 20.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
