Addie Payseur made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up three earned runs but no hits. Payseur was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Chloe Stokes was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Taylor Martin was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Cherryville waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Golden Lions get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory. That 22 run margin sets a new team best for the Ironmen this season.
Cherryville got a massive performance out of Ava Miller, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, four runs, and two doubles. Miller also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kate Mulvey, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Cherryville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.
